Uncle Waldo's Sports Pub and Billiards may sound familiar, that's because the formerly- known as Uncle Waldo's was located on Beachside for five years, and then another 25 years at their current location,2454 S. Nova Road, between Reed Canal and Big Tree. But what is not so familiar is that local family and entrepreneurs Tony, Patty and their son AJ Condercuci, purchased the business and began a transformation in July of 2016 that will change the way you think of billiard bars for now on. No stranger to purchasing businesses and increasing their value, that is exactly what has happened at their latest venture. A step out of the box for the Condurcuri family, owners of Terrific Turf Landscaping.
The transformation began with a cleanup, which is not an easy task in a 25-year-old business, and fresh paint. The removal of a few walls left the light to stream into the vast 6500-foot billiards hall, sports bar and grill that is home to 15 pool tables. All of the pool tables were covered with Simonis 860 tournament cloth. If you aren't a billiards aficionado then that may not mean a lot to you, but the fact you rarely have to wait for an available table will. Every pool table also has its own TV for sporting events like March Madness, NBA and NASCAR during this season. The non- smoking, nicely-decorated and well-equipped establishment is a far cry from billiards halls of its old appearance, but the patrons, who include all ages, still cherish that great camaraderie of the past, welcoming new-comers and embracing regulars.
Another great addition to Uncle Waldo's is a kitchen. Great pub food like their half-pound chuck burgers are grilled and served with fries. Their wings are fried, or you can also have them tossed on the grill, and served anyway you like(try the signature Sweet Spicy BBQ Sauce!) Uncle Waldo's has a large assortment of munchies such as fried pickles and quesadillas as well as sandwiches like their chicken breast, and they will serve until 1:30 AM. So grab your munchies and one of the 23 drafts including craft beers like Jai Alai as well as a rotating tap, and stroll to their patio or sit at one of their inside tables or bar.
If you are a billiards fan you are going to love the Super Aramith Pro Balls, and brand new Valley Supreme house cues. Uncle Waldo's is also home to the largest billiards supply store and cue repair. Several leagues are ongoing including a Senior League on Tuesday and Thursday at 11 AM. Pool Leagues are every Sunday- Thursday, Friday night, 7 PM tournament where the house adds and Break & Run 9 Ball on Saturday at 1 PM as well as Handicap 9 ball tournament Saturday at 7 PM. There's even a Snooker table on site. There's also an assortment of 7-foot, 8-foot, and 9-foot tables.
